Pertenceu ao Concelho de Veiros, extinto por Decreto de 24 de Outubro de 1855, passando a pertencer ao Concelho de Fronteira. Pelo Decreto de 4 de Dezembro de 1872 foi anexada ao Concelho de Estremoz.
